The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ WHEN THAT which must come to pass [at last] comes to pass, 1 Then none will be able to deny its occurrence. 2 Degrading (some) and exalting (others); 3 When the earth is shaken with convulsion 4 and the mountains are totally shattered and crumble to pieces 5 and become like scattered dust particles, 6 [on that Day] you shall be divided into three groups. 7 Those on the Right -- how blessed are those on the Right! 8 And (then) those on the left hand; what of those on the left hand? 9 The foremost ones (in faith and virtue) - the foremost ones in receiving their reward. 10 These will be those nearest to Allah. 11 in the Gardens of Delight, 12 a host of the ancients 13 And a few of those (foremost) will be from the later time (generations). 14 upon close-wrought couches 15 Reclining face to face. 16 There shall go round unto them youths ever-young. 17 with goblets, jugs and cups of crystal clear wine 18 that will neither make the head throb, nor intoxicate, 19 And fruit that they prefer 20 And the flesh of fowls, any that they may desire. 21 And [with them will be their] companions pure, most beautiful of eye, 22 Like pearls within their shells, 23 Reward for what they used to do. 24 They will not hear any useless speech in it, or any sin. 25 only the saying 'Peace, Peace!' 26 The Companions of the Right 27 [They will be] among lote trees with thorns removed 28 Among Talh trees with flowers (or fruits) piled one above another,- 29 And extended shade, 30 By water flowing constantly, 31 and an abundance of fruits, 32 Neither out of reach nor yet forbidden, 33 And raised couches. 34 Verily, We have created them (maidens) of special creation. 35 And made them virgins, 36 full of love, well-matched 37 for the Companions of the Right 38
