Hast thou considered him who turns his back 33 And gave a little, then stopped (giving)? 34 Hath he knowledge of the Unseen so that he seeth? 35 Or has he not been informed of what was in the scriptures of Moses 36 And (of) Ibrahim who fulfilled (the commandments): 37 Namely, that no bearer of burdens can bear the burden of another; 38 And that man shall have nothing but what he strives for- 39 and that [the fruit of] his striving shall soon be seen; 40 and in the end he will be repaid for it in full; 41 and that the final end is with your Lord, 42 And that He it is Who makes (men) laugh and makes (them) weep; 43 and that it is He alone who deals death and grants life; 44 And that He createth the two spouses, the male and the female, 45 from a drop of sperm when it was emitted, 46 That the second creation is incumbent on Him; 47 That it is He who makes you rich and contented; 48 It is He who is the Lord of Sirius. 49 And that it is He Who destroyed the (powerful) ancient 'Ad (people), 50 And that Thamud! He left not. 51 And the folk of Noah aforetime, Lo! they were more unjust and more rebellious; 52 And He destroyed the Overthrown Cities (of Sodom and Gomorrah). 53 So that they were covered over by what they were covered over. 54 Then which of thy Lord's bounties disputest thou? 55 THIS IS a warning like those warnings of old: 56 The Hour that was to come draws ever nearer. 57 No one besides God can rescue a soul from hardship. 58 Does this statement seem strange to them 59 and do you laugh, and do you not weep, 60 While you are proudly sporting? 61 Prostrate yourselves before Allah, and serve Him. ۩ 62
