۞ (Then will the command be given): “Muster all the wrong-doers and their spouses and the deities whom they used to serve 22 Besides Allah, then lead them to the way to hell. 23 And stop them; verily they are to be questioned: 24 "What is the matter with you? Why do you not help one another (as you used to do in the world)?" 25 indeed, on that Day they will surrender themselves. 26 And they will turn to one another and question one another. 27 saying: 'You used to come to us from the right hand' 28 Those say, 'No; on the contrary, you were not believers; 29 And we had over you no authority, but you were a transgressing people. 30 So on us hath been justified the sentence of our Lord: verily we are to taste. 31 "So we led you astray because we were ourselves astray." 32 Then lo! this day they (both) are sharers in the doom. 33 That is how We deal with sinners. 34 for when it was said to them, 'There is no god but God,' they were ever waxing proud, 35 And said: "Should we abandon our gods for the sake of an insane poet?" 36 Not in the least. He has brought the truth and confirmed the other messengers. 37 you shall surely taste the painful punishment, 38 And be rewarded but only for what you had done, 39 Save the chosen slaves of Allah (faithful, obedient, true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 40 For them there will be a known provision (in Paradise). 41 Fruits, and they shall be highly honored, 42 in gardens of bliss, 43 facing one another [in love] upon thrones of happiness. 44 Round them will be passed a cup of pure wine; 45 White, delicious to the drinkers, 46 no headiness will be in it, and they will not get drunk thereon. 47 And besides them will be chaste women, restraining their glances, with big eyes (of wonder and beauty). 48 who are as chaste as sheltered eggs. 49 They will turn to each other and ask questions. 50 A speaker of them saith: Lo! I had a comrade 51 who was wont to ask [me,] 'Why - art thou really one of those who believe it to be true 52 "(That) when we die and become dust and bones, shall we indeed (be raised up) to receive reward or punishment (according to our deeds)?" 53 He said (to others on the thrones), “Will you take a glimpse (into hell) below?” 54 Then he will look and see him in the midst of the Fire. 55 'By God', he said, 'you had almost ruined me. 56 If it had not been for the blessing of my Lord, I would also have been taken to Hell." 57 What then, shall we not die 58 “Except our earlier death, and nor will we be punished?” 59 Most surely this is the mighty achievement. 60 For such a reward should the workers perform. 61 Is that better by way of hospitality or the Zaqqum tree, 62 Truly We have made it (as) a trail for the Zalimun (polytheists, disbelievers, wrong-doers, etc.). 63 It is a tree that comes forth in the root of Hell; 64 Its spathes are like the prickly pear. 65 They will eat from it and fill their bellies with it; 66 Then on top of that they will be given a mixture made of boiling water. 67 then their return is unto Hell. 68 These are the ones who found their fathers steeped in error, 69 So they hastened [to follow] in their footsteps. 70 Most of the ancient people had also gone astray. 71 But We sent aforetime, among them, (messengers) to admonish them;- 72 Then see the nature of the consequence for those warned, 73 Not so the chosen servants of God. 74
