And certainly We created you, then We fashioned you, then We said to the angels: Prostrate to Adam. So they did prostrate except Iblis; he was not of those who prostrated. 11 Allah said: what prevented thee, that thou shouldst not prostrate thyself, when I bade thee? He said: I am better than he; me Thou createdest from fire, and him Thou createdest from clay. 12 Allah said: 'Then get you down from here. It does not behove you to be arrogant here. So be gone. You will be among the humiliated.' 13 Said he, 'Respite me till the day they shall be raised.' 14 He said: Surely you are of the respited ones. 15 He said: As Thou hast caused me to remain disappointed I will certainly lie in wait for them in Thy straight path. 16 Then surely I will come upon them from before them and from behind them and from their right and from their left, and Thou shalt not find the most of them thankful. 17 Allah said: 'Go away from here - disgraced and expelled. I shall fill the Hell with all those that follow you. 18 And; O Adam: dwell thou and thy spouse in the Garden and eat ye twain thereof whence ye will, and approach not yonder tree lest ye twain become of the wrong-doers. 19 But satan whispered to them, so that he might reveal to them their shameful parts which had been hidden from them, he said: 'Your Lord has prohibited you from this tree lest you both become angels or become among the immortal' 20 And he swore unto them, "Verily, I am of those who wish you well indeed!" 21 Thus Satan brought about their fall by deceit. And when they tasted of the tree, their shame became vislible to them, and both began to cover themselves with leaves from the Garden. Then their Lord called out to them: 'Did I not forbid you from that tree, and did I not warn you that Satan 'is your declared enemy?' 22 They said, "Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves, and if You do not forgive us and have mercy upon us, we will surely be among the losers." 23 [Allah] said, "Descend, being to one another enemies. And for you on the earth is a place of settlement and enjoyment for a time." 24 He said, “You shall live there and there shall you die, and from there only you will be raised.” 25
