It is He who sends down to you out of heaven water of which you have to drink, and of which trees, for you to pasture your herds, 10 Therewith He causeth crops to grow for you, and the olive and the date-palm and grapes and all kinds of fruit. Lo! herein is indeed a portent for people who reflect. 11 And He has made the night and the day and the sun and the moon subservient [to His laws, so that they be of use] to you; and all the stars are subservient to His command: in this, behold, there are messages indeed for people who use their reason! 12 And He hath subjected for you whatsoever He hath multiplied for you on the earth of various kinds. Verily therein is a sign for a people who receive admonition. 13 It is He who has subjected the sea to you, so that you eat of its soft flesh and bring up from it ornaments which you wear. And you see the ships plowing their course through it in order that you seek His bounty and give thanks. 14 And He has cast into the earth firmly set mountains, lest it shift with you, and [made] rivers and roads, that you may be guided, 15 and waymarks; and by the stars they are guided. 16 Is then the One Who creates like the one who does not create? Will you not, then, take heed? 17 Even if you wanted to count up all of God's blessings, you would not be able to. God is All-forgiving and All-merciful. 18 and God knows all that you keep secret as well as all that you bring into the open. 19 Those whom they (Al-Mushrikun) invoke besides Allah have not created anything, but are themselves created. 20 they are dead, not living. They do not even know when they will be resurrected. 21
