And make mention (O Muhammad) of Our bondman Job, when he cried unto his Lord (saying): Lo! the devil doth afflict me with distress and torment. 41 Urge with your foot; here is a cool washing-place and a drink. 42 And We bestowed upon him new offspring, doubling their number as an act of grace from Us, and as a reminder unto all who are endowed with insight. 43 We told him, "Take a handful of straw. Strike your wife with it to fulfill your oath." We found him to be patient. What an excellent servant he was. He was certainly most repenting. 44 And remember Our servants, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob - those of strength and [religious] vision. 45 We gave them this pure distinction because of their continual remembrance of the Day of Judgment. 46 They are the chosen ones, the excellent in Our sight. 47 And remember Ismail and Yasa’a (Elisha) and Zul-Kifl; and they are all excellent. 48 This is a Message (of admonition): and verily, for the righteous, is a beautiful Place of (Final) Return,- 49 the Gardens of Eden whose gates shall be open to them, 50 in which they will recline, and call for abundant fruit and drink therein. 51 ۞ They will have bashful wives of equal age with them. 52 This is what you were promised on the Day of Reckoning: 53 Indeed, this is Our provision; for it there is no depletion. 54 This: and verily for the exorbitant there shall be an evil retreat: 55 Hell! Where they will burn, and worst (indeed) is that place to rest! 56 (They will be told), "This is your recompense. 57 And other (punishment) of the same kind-- of various sorts. 58 Here is a troop rushing headlong with you! No welcome for them! truly, they shall burn in the Fire! 59 (The followers of the misleaders will say): "Nay, you (too)! No welcome for you! It is you (misleaders) who brought this upon us (because you misled us in the world), so evil is this place to stay in!" 60 They will say: “Our Lord, give twofold punishment in the Fire to him who has led us to this.” 61 And will add: "O what has happened to us that we do not see the men we counted among the wicked. 62 "Did we treat them (as such) in ridicule, or have (our) eyes failed to perceive them?" 63 Lo! that is very truth: the wrangling of the dwellers in the Fire. 64
