(In the days of old), Noah cried to Us, and We are the best to hear prayer. 75 And We saved him and his family from the great affliction. 76 and We made his offspring the only survivors. 77 We left mention of him among later generations. 78 Peace be upon Noah among all the nations. 79 Lo! thus do We reward the good. 80 Verily he was of Our bondmen believing. 81 Thereafter We caused the others to be drowned. 82 ۞ And indeed Ibrahim is from his (Nooh’s) group. 83 Behold! he approached his Lord with a sound heart. 84 Behold! he said to his father and to his people, "What is that which ye worship? 85 Do you want to worship false idols as your lords besides God? 86 What, then, do you think of the Sustainer of all the worlds?" 87 The people invited him to attend their feast). Then he looked at the stars 88 Then said: Lo! I feel sick! 89 so they turned their backs on him and went off. 90 Then he turned to their gods and said, "Do you not eat? 91 What is amiss with you that you do not speak?" 92 And he turned upon them a blow with [his] right hand. 93 Thereupon the people came running to him. 94 Said he: What! do you worship what you hew out? 95 While Allah created you and that which you do?" 96 They said, "Build a pyre for him and throw him into the blaze!" 97 They had contrived an evil plan against him, but We abased them all. 98 He said: "I will go to my Lord! He will surely guide me! 99 [And he prayed:] "O my Sustainer! Bestow upon me the gift of [a son who shall be] one of the righteous!" 100 So We gave him good tidings of a forbearing boy. 101 And when he reached the age of traveling with him, he said: 'My son, while I was sleeping I saw that I shall slaughter (sacrifice) you, tell me what is your opinion' He replied: 'Father, do as you are ordered (by Allah). Allah willing, you shall find me one of those who are steadfast' 102 Then (remember) when they both submitted to Allah’s command, and Ibrahim lay his son facing downwards. (The knife did not hurt Ismail) 103 We cried out: “O Abraham, 104 You have indeed shown the truth of the vision; surely thus do We reward the doers of good: 105 That was indeed a trying test. 106 And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice, 107 And We left for him among the later folk (the salutation): 108 Peace be on Abraham. 109 This is how We reward the virtuous. 110 For he was one of our believing Servants. 111 And [in time] We gave him the glad tiding of Isaac, [who, too, would be] a prophet, one of the righteous; 112 We blessed him and Ishaque (Isaac), and of their progeny are (some) that do right, and some that plainly wrong themselves. 113
