The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ The Beneficent (God) 1 has taught the Koran. 2 He created man 3 He hath taught him utterance. 4 The sun and the moon follow courses (exactly) computed; 5 And the herbs and the trees do prostrate (to Him). 6 And the heaven He raised and imposed the balance 7 Do not transgress the scales. 8 weigh, therefore, [your deeds] with equity, and cut not the measure short! 9 And the earth He has put for the creatures. 10 Wherein are fruit and sheathed palm-trees, 11 grain with its husk and aromatic herbs. 12 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 13 He created man from dry clay like earthen vessels, 14 And the jinn did He create of smokeless fire. 15 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 16 Lord of the East and Lord of the West. 17 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 18 He has let loosed the two seas (the salt water and the sweet) meeting together. 19 Between them is a barrier, which they do not overrun. 20 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 21 From the two oceans comes pearls and coral. 22 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 23 His are the lofty ships, that rear aloft on the sea like mountains. 24 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 25
