Ad cried lies to the Envoys 123 When their brother Hud said to them: Will you not guard (against evil)? 124 "Verily! I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 125 So fear Allah and obey me. 126 And I do not ask you any reward for it; surely my reward is only with the Lord of the worlds 127 What, do you build on every prominence a sign, sporting, 128 "And do you get for yourselves palaces (fine buildings) as if you will live therein for ever. 129 “And when you apprehend someone, you seize him mercilessly?” 130 Rather keep your duty to Allah, and obey me. 131 Have fear of Him Who has provided you with all the (good) things you know; 132 He has bestowed on you cattle, and sons, 133 And gardens and watersprings. 134 for, verily, I fear lest suffering befall you on an awesome day!" 135 They said, "It is all the same to us whether you advise or are not of the advisors. 136 This is not but the custom of the former peoples, 137 And we are not going to be punished. 138 In this there is evidence (of the Truth), yet most of them do not have any faith. 139 And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. 140
