And recite to them the news of Ibrahim. 69 He said to his father and to his nation: 'What do you worship' 70 They said: We worship idols, and are ever devoted unto them. 71 He said, “Do they hear you when you call?” 72 or do they profit you, or harm?' 73 They said: "No. But we found our fathers doing so." 74 He said: "Do you observe that which you have been worshipping, 75 “You and your forefathers preceding you.” 76 They are an enemy to me, except the Lord of all Being 77 who created me, and Himself guides me, 78 and is the One who gives me to eat and to drink, 79 And when I sicken, then He healeth me. 80 who makes me to die, then gives me life, 81 And Who, I hope, will forgive me my mistakes on the day of judgment. 82 My Lord, give me Judgment, and join me with the righteous, 83 And appoint for me an honourable mention among the posterity 84 and place me amongst the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss. 85 Forgive my father. He has gone astray. 86 Do not betray me 87 The Day when there will not benefit [anyone] wealth or children 88 and when he alone will be saved who comes to God with a sound heart." 89 "To the righteous, the Garden will be brought near, 90 whereas the blazing fire will be laid open before those who had been lost in grievous error; 91 And it shall be said unto them where is that which ye were wont to worship? 92 Other than Allah? Can they help you or help themselves?" 93 The idol worshippers, the idols, the rebellious ones, 94 Together with the hordes of Iblis. 95 Disputing among themselves they will say: 96 “By oath of Allah, we were indeed in open error.” 97 when we considered you equal to the Lord of the Universe. 98 "'And our seducers were only those who were steeped in guilt. 99 so now we have no intercessors, 100 "'Nor a single friend to feel (for us). 101 O that we might return again, and be among the believers!' 102 In this there is evidence (of the truth), but many of them do not have any faith. 103 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 104
