He said: O my Lord! Expand my breast for me, 25 And ease for me my affair. 26 Unloose the knot upon my tongue, 27 so that they might fully understand my speech, 28 and appoint for me a helper from among my family, 29 Aaron, my brother. 30 Increase through him my strength 31 and let him share my task, 32 so that we exalt You 33 And remember Thee oft. 34 Verily, You have always watched over us." 35 He said: Thou art granted thy request, O Moses. 36 "And indeed We conferred a favour on thee another time (before). 37 when We revealed Our will to your mother, saying, 38 Saying! cast him in the ark, and cast him into the river, and the river will throw him on the bank, and then an enemy of Mine and an enemy of his will take him up. And I cast on thee love from Me in order that thou mayest be formed under Mine eye. 39 What time thy sister was walking along and saying: shall I direct you unto one who will take care of him? Thus We returned thee to thy mother that she might cool her eyes and she might not grieve. And thou slewest a person, but We delivered thee from sorrow, and We tried thee with several trials. Then thou tarriedst for years among the people of Madyan then thou camest according to fate, O Musa! 40 “And I created you especially for Myself.” 41 “You and your brother, both go with My signs, and do not slacken in My remembrance.” 42 Then go to the Pharaoh as he has become exceedingly rebellious. 43 yet speak gently to him, that haply he may be mindful, or perchance fear.' 44 'O our Lord' both said, 'We fear lest he may be excessive against us or become insolent' 45 He replied: 'Have no fear I shall be with you, both hearing and seeing. 46 Both of you go to him (Pharaoh) and say: "We are the Messengers of your Lord. Let the Children of Israel depart with us, and do not punish them. We have come to you with a sign from your Lord; peace be on him who follows guidance! 47 for, behold, it has been revealed to us that [in the life to come] suffering shall befall all who give the lie to the truth and turn away [from it]!"' 48 He asked: "Who then is that Lord of yours, O Moses?" 49 [Musa (Moses)] said: "Our Lord is He Who gave to each thing its form and nature, then guided it aright." 50 Pharaoh said, 'And what of the former generations?' 51 Moses said, "My Lord alone has knowledge of that, recorded in a Book. My Lord neither errs nor forgets." 52 [It is He] who has made for you the earth as a bed [spread out] and inserted therein for you roadways and sent down from the sky, rain and produced thereby categories of various plants. 53 Eat (for yourselves) and pasture your cattle: verily, in this are Signs for men endued with understanding. 54
