And [mention] when your Lord called Moses, [saying], "Go to the wrongdoing people - 10 The people of Fir'aun (Pharaoh). Will they not fear Allah and become righteous?" 11 He replied, "Lord, I am afraid that they will call me a liar. 12 “I feel hesitant, and my tongue does not speak fast, therefore make Haroon also a Noble Messenger.” 13 "And they have a charge of crime against me, and I fear they will kill me." 14 Said He: "Not so, indeed! Go forth, then, both of you, with Our messages: verily, We shall be with you, listening [to your call]! 15 "And when you both come to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), say: 'We are the Messengers of the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists), 16 Send the Israelites with us". 17 [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] said [to Musa (Moses)]: "Did we not bring you up among us as a child? And you did dwell many years of your life with us. 18 And thou didst that thy deed which thou didst, and thou wast one of the ingrates. 19 Moses said, "I did do it and I made a mistake. 20 Then I fled from you when I feared you, and my Lord bestowed on me wisdom and made me one of the sent ones. 21 But the favour you oblige me with is that you have enslaved the children of Israel." 22 Pharaoh said: "And what is the 'Lord and Cherisher of the worlds'?" 23 He said: Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatsoever is in-between, if ye seek to be convinced. 24 Pharaoh said to those around him, "Did you hear?" 25 [And Moses] continued: "[He is] your Sustainer, [too,] as well as the Sustainer of your forefathers of old!" 26 The Pharaoh said, "The Messenger who has been sent to you is certainly insane". 27 [But Moses] went on: "[He of whom I speak is] the Sustainer of the east and the west and of all that is between the two - as you would know]" if you would but use your reason!" 28 Fir'awn said: if thou wilt take a god other than me, I shall surely place thee among the prisoners. 29 Moses asked, "What if I were to bring you clear proof (of the existence of God)?" 30 (Pharaoh) said: Produce it then, if thou art of the truthful! 31 So (Moses) threw his rod, and behold, it was a serpent, plain (for all to see)! 32 And he drew forth his hand, and lo! it appeared white to the onlookers. 33
