Nay, verily: By the Moon, 32 and by the night when it recedes, 33 and the morn when it dawns! 34 surely (Hell) is one of the greatest Signs, 35 As a warning unto men, 36 to whoever of you desires to go forward or lag behind. 37 [On the Day of Judgment,] every human being will be held in pledge for whatever [evil] he has wrought 38 Except the Companions of the Right Hand. 39 who shall be in the Gardens, and shall ask 40 Of evil-doers: 41 'What thrusted you into Sakar?' 42 They will say, "We were not of those who prayed, 43 And we have not been feeding the poor. 44 We plunged in with the plungers 45 "And we used to belie the Day of Recompense 46 "Until there came to us (the Hour) that is certain." 47 So no intercession of intercessors will be of any use to them. 48 What is then the matter with them, that they turn away from the admonition 49 As though they were frightened asses 50 running away from a lion? 51 Is it that everyone of them wants to receive a heavenly book addressed to him personally? 52 Nay, but they do not [believe in and hence, do not] fear the life to come. 53 No! Indeed, the Qur'an is a reminder 54 So, whoever wills may benefit from it. 55 No one will seek guidance unless God wills it. He alone is worthy of being feared and He is the Source of Forgiveness. 56
