Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
CONSIDER these [messages,] sent forth in waves 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 And by the winds that scatter clouds and rain; 3 By those who winnow with a winnowing, 4 By those who bring down the Reminder, 5 excusing or warning, 6 Most surely what you are threatened with must come to pass. 7 Then the stars will lose their light. 8 and when the sky is rent asunder 9 When the mountains are scattered (to the winds) as dust; 10 and when the Messengers' time is set, 11 For what day is the time appointed? 12 To the day of decision. 13 What do you know what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Woe on that day unto the beliers 15 Did We not destroy the earlier peoples? 16 So shall We make later (generations) follow them. 17 Thus do We deal with men of sin. 18 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 19 Did We not create you of a mean fluid, 20 Then We placed it in a secure resting-place, 21 till a known term decreed? 22 We determined, how excellent a Determiner are We! 23 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle? 25 Of the living and the dead? 26 And have placed therein firm and tall mountains and given you to drink of water fresh 27 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 28 Proceed to that (the Day of Judgment) which you have rejected. 29 Proceed to a shadow [of smoke] having three columns 30 that will offer no [cooling] shade and will be of no avail against the flame 31 Lo! it throweth up sparks like the castles, 32 As if they were Jimalatun Sufr (yellow camels or bundles of ropes)." 33 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 34 that Day on which they will not [be able to] utter a word, 35 Nor given leave to make excuses. 36 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 37 'This is the Day of Decision; We have joined you with the ancients; 38 If now ye have any craft, try that craft upon Me. 39 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 40
