S (Saad)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Sad. By the Quran, full of admonition! 1 No, the unbelievers exalt in their division. 2 How many ancient generations did We destroy? (On facing Our torment) they cried out for help, but it was too late for them to escape. 3 They are surprised that a warner should come to them from among themselves. They say, "This is a magician, a great liar. 4 They say, "Has he condemned all other gods but One? This is certainly strange". 5 And the elders among them went forth saying: “Go ahead and be steadfast in adhering to your deities. What is being said is with a design.” 6 We have not heard of this in the last religion; this is surely an invention. 7 “Is the Qur’an which is sent to him, among us?” In fact they are in a doubt concerning My Book; in fact, they have not yet tasted My punishment. 8 Or do they hold the treasures of the mercy of your Lord, the Almighty, the Great Bestower? 9 Or is theirs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and what is between them? Then let them ascend through [any] ways of access. 10 They are only a small band among the defeated confederate tribes. 11 The folk of Noah before them denied (their messenger) and (so did the tribe of) A'ad, and Pharaoh firmly planted, 12 Thamood, the nation of Lot and the dwellers of the Thicket such were the confederates. 13 Not one of them but did deny the messengers, therefor My doom was justified, 14
