The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the sky is rent asunder, 1 And obeys its Lord and it must. 2 And when the earth is flattened out, 3 And casts forth what is in it and becomes empty, 4 And attentive to her Lord in fear! 5 [then,] O man - thou [that] hast, verily, been toiling towards thy Sustainer in painful toil - then shalt thou meet Him! 6 Then as to him who shall be given his book in his right hand 7 He surely will receive an easy reckoning, 8 and shall return to his people joyfully. 9 But he who is given the Record behind his back, 10 Soon he will pray for death. 11 They will suffer the heat of hell fire. 12 Verily, he was among his people in joy! 13 He assumed that he does not have to return. 14 But he will indeed! His Lord was ever watching him. 15 No! I swear by the twilight 16 And by the night and all that it enshroudeth, 17 And by oath of the moon when it is full. 18 [That] you will surely experience state after state. 19 What, then, is amiss with them that they will not believe [in a life to come]? 20 And, when the Qur'an is recited unto them, worship not (Allah)? ۩ 21 In fact, they reject the Quran, 22 And Allah knows best what they hide, 23 Wherefore announce thou unto them a torment afflictive. 24 except for those who believe and do good deeds. Theirs shall be an unending reward. 25
