Surely We have created man, and We know the promptings of his heart, and We are nearer to him than even his jugular vein. 16 When the two receivers receive, seated on the right and on the left. 17 There is not a word he utters but an observer is ready (to make note of it). 18 The trance of death will come revealing the truth: that is what you were trying to escape. 19 And the Trumpet will be blown, that will be the Day whereof warning (had been given) (i.e. the Day of Resurrection). 20 And every soul shall come, and with it a driver and a witness. 21 You were heedless of this. Now We have removed your veil and so your vision today is sharp. 22 And (unto the evil-doer) his comrade saith: This is that which I have ready (as testimony). 23 (They will be told,) "Throw into hell every persistent disbelievers, 24 "Who forbade what was good, transgressed all bounds, cast doubts and suspicions; 25 Who made [as equal] with Allah another deity; then throw him into the severe punishment." 26 ۞ His comrade saith: Our Lord! I did not cause him to rebel, but he was (himself) far gone in error. 27 (It was said): “Do not remonstrate in My presence. I had warned you. 28 My word shall not be changed, nor am I in the least unjust to the servants. 29
