A crowd of earlier generations 39 And a multitude of those (on the Right Hand) will be from the later times (generations). 40 As for the people on the left hand, how miserable they will be! 41 mid burning winds and boiling waters 42 And in the shades of Black Smoke: 43 Neither cool nor honorable. 44 For that they were wont to be indulged, before that, in wealth (and luxury), 45 And were stubborn upon the great sin (of disbelief). 46 And they were wont to say: when we have died and become dust and bones, shall we, then, verily be raised? 47 And also our forefathers?" 48 Say, [O Muhammad], "Indeed, the former and the later peoples 49 “They will all be gathered together – on the appointed time of the known day.” 50 Then indeed you, O those astray [who are] deniers, 51 Will be eating from trees of zaqqum 52 and will have to fill your bellies therewith, 53 Then drink over it of boiling water; 54 "So you will drink (that) like thirsty camels!" 55 This shall be their hospitality on the Day of Doom. 56 It is We who have created you. Why then did you not testify to the Truth? 57 Have you seen that which you emit? 58 Did you create it or was it We who created it? 59 We have destined death for you and no one can challenge Us 60 in replacing you with another creation like you, changing you into a form which you do not know. 61 You have known the first growth; so why will you not remember? 62 Behold! that which ye sow. 63 Is it you who cultivate it, or is it We Who develop it? 64 We could turn it, if We pleased, into straw; then you would rue the day, 65 "Verily, we are ruined! 66 "Indeed are we shut out (of the fruits of our labour)" 67 Have you considered the water that you drink? 68 Is it ye who shed it from the raincloud, or are We the Shedder? 69 If We willed, surely We would make it brackish. Wherefore give ye not thanks? 70 Tell Me! The fire which you kindle, 71 Did you make its tree grow or was it We Who made it grow? 72 We made it a reminder and a provision for the needy. 73 So exalt the name of your Lord, the Most Great. 74
