So did you observe him who turned away? 33 And he gave a little, then refrained? 34 Has he knowledge of the Unknown that he perceives everything? 35 Or hath he not had news of what is in the books of Moses 36 And [of] Abraham, who fulfilled [his obligations] - 37 That no one who carries a burden bears another's load; 38 That man can have nothing but what he strives for; 39 And that his striving shall soon be seen- 40 whereupon he shall be requited for it with the fullest requital; 41 that all things in the end shall return to God; 42 And that it is He (Allah) Who makes (whom He wills) laugh, and makes (whom He wills) weep; 43 And that it is He who causes death and gives life 44 That He did create in pairs,- male and female, 45 out of a [mere] drop of sperm as it is poured forth, 46 And that upon Him (Allah) is another bringing forth (Resurrection); 47 And that it is He Who has given wealth and contentment? 48 That He is the Lord of Sirius (the Mighty Star); 49 And that He destroyed the first [people of] 'Aad 50 And destroyed the tribe of Thamud, not sparing anyone? 51 as well as the people of Noah before them - [since,] verily, they all had been most willful in their evildoing and most overweening 52 He plunged the villages 53 So there covered them that which covered. 54 Then which of thy Lord's bounties disputest thou? 55 This is a warning just like those of former times. 56 The Imminent is near at hand; 57 Of it, [from those] besides Allah, there is no remover. 58 Then at this statement do you wonder? 59 And will you laugh and not weep? 60 and divert yourselves all the while? 61 But fall ye down in prostration to Allah, and adore (Him)! ۩ 62
