Noah (Nooh)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Verily, We sent Nuh (Noah) to his people (Saying): "Warn your people before there comes to them a painful torment." 1 He said: O my people! Lo! I am a plain warner unto you 2 Worship Allah, and fear Him, and obey me. 3 He will forgive your sins and will grant you respite till an appointed time. When the time appointed by God arrives, it cannot be postponed, if you only knew." 4 He said: O my Lord! surely I have called my people by night and by day! 5 but my call has only increased them in running away. 6 And whenever I called them, that Thou mightest forgive them, they put their fingers in their ears, and wrapped them in their garments, and persisted, and waxed very proud. 7 "So I have called to them aloud; 8 Then surely I spoke to them in public and I spoke to them in secret: 9 Then I said, "Ask forgiveness of your Lord. Surely He is the most forgiving. 10 He will send the heaven upon you copiously; 11 And help you with wealth and sons, and make for you gardens, and make for you rivers. 12 What is the matter with you that you fear not the greatness of Allah? 13 when He has created you in stages? 14 Behold ye not in what wise Allah hath created seven heavens in storeys. 15 setting in them the moon as a light and the sun as a lantern? 16 God produced you from the earth like a vegetable growth; 17 how He will then return you to it and bring you forth again, 18 God has made the earth for you a spreading, 19 That you may go about therein in broad roads. 20
