And indeed We sent Nuh (Noah) to his people, and he said: "O my people! Worship Allah! You have no other Ilah (God) but Him (Islamic Monotheism). Will you not then be afraid (of Him i.e. of His Punishment because of worshipping others besides Him)?" 23 Then said the chiefs of those who disbelieved among his people: this is no other than a human being like unto you, he seeketh to make himself superior unto you; and if God had willed, He would have sent down angels; we have not heard of this among our fathers ancient. 24 He is only an insane person. Wait for some time. Perhaps he will come to his senses." 25 [Noah] said, "My Lord, support me because they have denied me." 26 So We inspired him (saying): "Construct the ship under Our Eyes and under Our Revelation (guidance). Then, when Our Command comes, and the oven gushes forth water, take on board of each kind two (male and female), and your family, except those thereof against whom the Word has already gone forth. And address Me not in favour of those who have done wrong. Verily, they are to be drowned. 27 And when you have boarded the ship, you and those with you, then say, 'Praise to Allah who has saved us from the wrongdoing people.' 28 And pray, “My Lord! Cause me to alight at a blessed place – and You are the Best of all who bring to settle.” 29 Indeed, surely in this are signs and indeed surely, We were examining. 30 Then, after them, We created another generation. 31 and We sent among them a Messenger from among themselves, saying: "Serve Allah; you have no god other than He. Do you have no fear?" 32
