The folk of Lot denied the messengers (of Allah), 160 When their brother Lut said unto them: fear ye not? 161 I have been sent as a trusted messenger to you. 162 So fear God and listen to me. 163 I ask no recompense of you for this. My reward is due from none but the Lord of all the worlds. 164 What! Of all creatures do ye come unto the males, 165 and leave your wives whom your Lord has created for you? You are a people who transgress all bounds." 166 They said: If you desist not, O Lut! you shall surely be of those who are expelled. 167 He said, "I certainly hate what you practice. 168 My Lord! deliver me and my household from that which they work. 169 Then We delivered him and all his family 170 all but an old woman, who was among those that stayed behind; 171 Then We utterly destroyed the others. 172 by pouring upon them a terrible shower of rain. How evil was the rain for those who had been warned! 173 Verily in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe. 174 And indeed your Lord – only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 175
