Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ By the Day of Resurrection, 1 And I call the reprehensive soul to witness: 2 Thinketh man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Surely We are able to reform even his finger-tips. 4 Rather, the human desires to continue in his immorality, 5 He questions: "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 So, when the sight shall be dazed, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 when the sun and moon are gathered together 9 That day man will say: "Where can I find escape?" 10 Never! There is no refuge! 11 With your Lord alone shall on that day be the place of rest. 12 Man will be apprised, on that Day, of what he has done and what he has left undone: 13 nay, man shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 Although he tender his excuses. 15 [Prophet], do not move your tongue too fast in your attempt to learn this revelation: 16 Ours it is to gather it, and to recite it. 17 And so when We recite it, follow its recitation attentively; 18 And thereafter verily upon us is the expounding thereof. 19 Not [as you think, that you (mankind) will not be resurrected and recompensed for your deeds], but (you men) love the present life of this world, 20 and give no thought to the life to come [and to Judgment Day]! 21 Upon that day faces shall be radiant, 22 Looking toward their Lord; 23 And on that Day there shall be scowling faces, 24 Expecting that there will be done to them [something] backbreaking. 25 Yes indeed, when the soul will reach up to the throat. 26 And it is said, "Who will cure [him]?" 27 the while he [himself] knows that this is the parting, 28 And agony is heaped on agony; 29 On that Day you will be driven to your Lord. 30
