The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ What are they asking each other about? 1 About the Great News 2 Concerning which they are in disagreement. 3 No indeed; soon will they come to know; 4 Nay, again, but they will come to know! 5 Did We not make the earth a bed? 6 And the high hills bulwarks? 7 And We created you in pairs 8 And We made your sleep to be rest (to you), 9 and made the night a covering, 10 and the day as time for you to make a living? 11 Have We not made seven strong heavens above you, 12 And have appointed a dazzling lamp, 13 And sent down, from the rain clouds, pouring water 14 so that We might bring forth thereby grain, and herbs, 15 and gardens dense with foliage. 16 Indeed, the Day of Decision is an appointed time, 17 It is a Day whereon the trumpet will be blown, and ye will come in multitudes. 18 And the heaven shall be opened so that it shall be all openings, 19 and the mountains will be set in motion and become a mirage. 20 Indeed hell is lying in ambush. 21 It will be a place of return 22 where they shall remain for ages, 23 They will not taste therein cool or any drink. 24 Save scalding water and corruption. 25 A fitting recompense (for them). 26 Verily they were wont not to look for a reckoning. 27 They called Our revelations false with strong denial. 28 And everything have We recorded in a Book. 29 [And so We shall say:] "Taste, then, [the fruit of your evil doings,] for now We shall bestow on you nothing but more and more suffering!" 30

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
