The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By those who range themselves in ranks, 1 And so are strong in repelling (evil), 2 and the reciters of a Remembrance, 3 Indeed your God is surely only One. 4 Lord of the heavens and of the earth and all between them, and Lord of every point at the rising of the sun! 5 We have adorned the lower heaven with the adornment of the stars 6 and guarded it against all rebellious devils: 7 The devils cannot hear those high above. They would be struck from all sides 8 rejected, and theirs is an everlasting chastisement, 9 But if anyone does succeed in snatching a glimpse [of such knowledge], he shall be pursued by a piercing flame. 10 Therefore ask them (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), “Are they a stronger creation, or are other things of our creation, (the angels, the heavens etc.)?” We have indeed created them from sticky clay. 11 Nay! you wonder while they mock, 12 And, when they are admonished, pay no heed,- 13 and when they become aware of a [divine] message, they turn it to ridicule 14 saying, "This is plain sorcery!" 15 What, when we are dead and become dust and bones, shall we be resurrected. 16 What, and our forefathers, the ancients' 17 Say, "Yes indeed, and you will be brought low." 18 There will be but a single blast and then their eyes will open. 19 They will say, "Woe to us! This is the Day of Reckoning." 20 This is the Day of Decision which you belied. 21
