He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away. 1 because the blind man approached him! 2 for how can you know that he might seek to purify himself, 3 Or that he might receive admonition, and the teaching might profit him? 4 Yet you pay attention 5 to him didst thou give thy whole attention, 6 although thou art not accountable for his failure to attain to purity; 7 And for him who came to you striving, 8 and fearfully, 9 So you leave him, and are engrossed elsewhere! 10 Nay, (do not do like this), indeed it (these Verses of this Quran) are an admonition, 11 Therefore let whoso will, keep it in remembrance. 12 upon pages high-honoured, 13 Exalted and holy, 14 Written by the hands of emissaries. 15 Honourable and obedient. 16 Perish Man! How unthankful he is! 17 From what did He create him? 18 From Nutfah (male and female semen drops) He created him, and then set him in due proportion; 19 Then (as for) the way-- He has made it easy (for him) 20 Then He causes him to die, and puts him in his grave; 21 then, He will raise him when He wills. 22 Nay, but man did not fulfil what Allah had enjoined upon him. 23 So let man just consider his food: 24 How We poured down water in torrents, 25 and then We cleaved the earth asunder. 26 and thereupon We cause grain to grow out of it, 27 grapes, vegetables, 28 Olives and dates, 29 And enclosed gardens luxuriant. 30 and fruit and pastures, 31 For use and convenience to you and your cattle. 32 Then when cometh the Deafening Cry 33 on a Day when everyone will [want to] flee from his brother, 34 And his mother and his father, 35 And from his wife and his children. 36 For every one of them on that Day shall be business enough to occupy 37 [Some] faces, that Day, will be bright - 38 laughing, joyous; 39 Some faces on that Day shall be dust-ridden, 40 o'erspread with darkness -- 41 Those are the disbelievers, the wicked. 42
