The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the heaven, and At-Tariq (the night-comer, i.e. the bright star); 1 what do you know what the night-visitor is? 2 The very brightly shining star! 3 There is not a soul but over it is a keeper. 4 Let the human reflect of what he is created. 5 He is created from a water gushing forth. 6 Issuing from (the pelvis) between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Surely He is able to bring him back 8 On a Day whereon secrets shall be out. 9 Then will he have no might nor any helper. 10 By the heaven which returneth, 11 by the earth cracking open with new growth. 12 Lo! this (Qur'an) is a conclusive word, 13 It is no pleasantry. 14 Verily, they are but plotting a plot (against you O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)). 15 And I secretly plan. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal thou gently with them for a while. 17
Almighty Allah's Truth.
