The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the heaven, and the night-visitor, 1 what do you know what the night-visitor is? 2 It is the shining star -- 3 No human soul but hath a guardian over it. 4 Let the human reflect of what he is created. 5 He was created of spurting water 6 Emerging from between the backbone and the ribs. 7 He certainly has the power to bring him back to life. 8 The Day when secrets will be put on trial, 9 and he shall have no strength, no helper. 10 By heaven of the returning rain, 11 And the earth splitting (with plants); 12 Behold this is the Word that distinguishes (Good from Evil): 13 And it is no joke. 14 Lo! they plot a plot (against thee, O Muhammad) 15 and I am cunningly devising. 16 Therefore respite the unbelievers, and delay them for a while. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
