Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Hath there come unto thee the story of the Enveloping Event? 1 Many faces will be contrite on that day, 2 Labouring (hard), weary,- 3 They will [enter to] burn in an intensely hot Fire. 4 Made to drink water from the boiling hot spring. 5 They will have no food except bitter thorn, 6 Which neither nourishes nor avails against hunger. 7 Faces on that day jocund, 8 with their striving well-pleased, 9 In a high Garden. 10 wherein they will not hear any vain talk. 11 Within it is a flowing spring. 12 and raised couches, 13 And cups set at hand. 14 And cushions ranged 15 And linen spread out. 16 Then do they not look at the camels - how they are created? 17 And the heaven, how it is reared aloft, 18 And at the mountains, how firmly they are reared? 19 how the earth was outstretched? 20 Therefore do thou give admonition, for thou art one to admonish. 21 You do not have full control over them. 22 But whoever turns back and disbelieves, 23 In which case he will be punished by God with the severest punishment. 24 To Us is surely their returning; 25 and then it is for Us to call them to account. 26
