The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
WHEN THE SUN is folded up, 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 And when the mountains are made to pass away, 3 when the pregnant camels shall be neglected, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 and when the seas boil over, 6 souls are reunited with their bodies, 7 And the little girl buried alive is asked 8 such as, "For what crime were they murdered?" 9 when the scrolls are unrolled, 10 And when the sky is stripped away 11 And when Hell-fire shall be kindled to fierce ablaze. 12 and Paradise brought nigh: 13 A soul will [then] know what it has brought [with it]. 14 No indeed; I swear by the alternating stars 15 the runners, the sinkers, 16 by the night swarming, 17 And the morning when it brightens, 18 behold, this [divine writ] is indeed the [inspired] word of a noble apostle, 19 Full of power, well-established with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 [the word] of one to be heeded, and worthy of trust! 21 Your companion is not mad. 22 And indeed he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) saw him [Jibrael (Gabriel)] in the clear horizon (towards the east). 23 And he is not avid of the Unseen. 24 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan). 25 So where are you going? 26 This is naught but an admonition unto the worlds 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Sustainer of all the worlds, wills [to show you that way]. 29
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
