Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Perish the hands of Abu Lahab, and perish he! 1 His wealth did not benefit him in the least, nor did whatever he earned. 2 He will be burnt in a Fire of blazing flames! 3 and his wife, the carrier of the firewood, 4 with a rope of twisted fibre round her neck. 5

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
