And when thy Lord called to Moses, 'Go to the people of the evildoers, 10 and ask them, "Why do you not fear God?" 11 He said, 'My Lord, I fear they will cry me lies, 12 I feel nervous and my tongue is not fluent, so send Aaron with me. 13 besides, they accuse me of a crime, and I fear that they may put me to death." 14 He said: "Certainly not! So go both of you with Our Signs. We shall be with you listening to everything. 15 "And when you both come to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), say: 'We are the Messengers of the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists), 16 That you should send the children of Israel with us.' 17 (Firon) said: Did we not bring you up as a child among us, and you tarried among us for (many) years of your life? 18 You spent many years of your life among us and then you committed that deed of yours. You are very ungrateful indeed." 19 (Moses) replied: "I did do that and I was in the wrong, 20 So I fled from you when I feared you, then my Lord granted me wisdom and made me of the apostles; 21 “And is this some great reward for which you express favour upon me – that you have enslaved the Descendants of Israel?” 22 Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "And what is the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)?" 23 Moses answered: "The Lord of the heavens and the earth and of all that is between them, if you were only to believe." 24 Said [Pharaoh] unto those around him: "Did you hear [what he said]?" 25 [And Moses] continued: "[He is] your Sustainer, [too,] as well as the Sustainer of your forefathers of old!" 26 Pharaoh said, "This messenger who has been sent to you is surely possessed!" 27 (Moses) said: "The Lord of the East and the Lord of the West and all that lies between them, if you have sense." 28 (Pharaoh) said: "If thou dost put forward any god other than me, I will certainly put thee in prison!" 29 'What, even if I brought you something clear' said he (Moses). 30 Said he, 'Bring it then, if thou art of the truthful.' 31 Thereupon [Moses] threw down his staff - and lo! it was a serpent, plainly visible; 32 Then he drew out his hand, and it was luminous to the onlookers. 33
