The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ WHEN WHAT IS to happen comes to pass -- 1 There is, at its occurrence, no denial. 2 Abasing exalting. 3 When the earth is shaken violently, 4 and the mountains are totally shattered and crumble to pieces 5 So that they will become floating dust particles. 6 [on that Day] you shall be divided into three groups. 7 Thus, there shall be such as will have attained to what is right: oh, how [happy] will be they who have attained to what is right! 8 Those on the Left -- how unlucky are those on the Left! 9 And the foremost in the race, the foremost in the race: 10 These will be those nearest to Allah. 11 In gardens of delight; 12 A multitude of those (foremost) will be from the first generations (who embraced Islam). 13 And a few from among the latter. 14 on lavish couches 15 Reclining thereon facing each other. 16 Immortal youths will wait upon them 17 with goblets and ewers, and a cup from a spring 18 which will not cause them any intoxication or illness. 19 And with fruits, any that they may select: 20 And with flesh of fowls from that which they desire. 21 And wide eyed houris 22 The like of the hidden pearls: 23 [And this will be] a reward for what they did [in life]. 24 They will not hear any useless speech in it, or any sin. 25 Except the saying, “Peace, peace.” 26 And the fellows on the right hand; how be happy shall the fellows on the right hand be! 27 (They will be) among thornless lote-trees, 28 And [banana] trees layered [with fruit] 29 and spreading shade 30 And water poured out 31 And plenty of fruits. 32 Whose season is not limited, and their supply will not be cut off, 33 And maidens incomparable. 34 Indeed, We have produced the women of Paradise in a [new] creation 35 Then We have made them virgins, 36 intensely loving and of matching age. 37 for the Companions of the Right 38
