But what is the matter with the unbelievers, that they strain their glances continuously towards them, 36 [coming upon thee] from the right and from the left, in crowds? 37 Does every one of them desire to enter the bountiful Paradise? 38 Not at all, for We have created them of what they know. 39 No, I swear by the Lord of the Easts and the Wests that We have the ability 40 To bring better people than they in their place; and they will not be able to thwart Us. 41 so leave them to indulge in vain idle talk and amuse themselves, until they face the Day which they have been promised, 42 The Day they will emerge from the graves rapidly as if they were, toward an erected idol, hastening. 43 Their eyes cast down; disgrace shall overtake them; that is the day which they were threatened with. 44
