The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is folded up, 1 And when the stars shall fall; 2 And when the mountains are driven. 3 when the ten-months pregnant camels shall be abandoned, 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 when the buried female infant is asked 8 for what offence was she killed? 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 And when the sky is torn away, 11 and when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And Paradise brought near, 13 then, each soul shall know what it has produced. 14 I swear by the receding stars. 15 The stars which rise and set, 16 and sit during the day, or by the darkening night 17 And by the morning when it shineth forth, 18 it is indeed the word of an Honorable Messenger, 19 one mighty and held in honour with the Lord of the Throne; 20 who is obeyed there and is worthy of trust. 21 Nor is your companion distracted. 22 He certainly saw him (Gabriel) high up on the horizon in his original form 23 Nor of the unseen is he a tenacious concealer. 24 Nor is this [message] the word of any satanic force accursed. 25 When whither go ye? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 For the one among you who wishes to become upright. 28 And ye will not, unless (it be) that Allah willeth, the Lord of Creation. 29
True are the words of God the Almighty.
