The people of Lot accused the messengers of lies. 160 when their brother Lot said to them, 'Will you not be godfearing? 161 Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger. 162 So fear Allah, and obey me. 163 I seek of you no reward. My reward is with none but the Lord of the Universe. 164 "Must you, of all people, [lustfully] approach men, 165 instead of your wives, whom your Lord has created specially for you? You are a transgressing people." 166 They said: "If you cease not. O Lout (Lot)! Verily, you will be one of those who are driven out!" 167 He said: 'Truly, I am a detester of what you do' 168 My Lord, deliver me and my family from their wicked deeds." 169 So We delivered him and his followers all, 170 except an old woman who remained behind. 171 Then We destroyed the rest of them, 172 And rained on them a shower (of Stones). How terrible was the rain (that fell) on those who had been warned! 173 In this there is an evidence of the Truth, but many of them did not have any faith. 174 And indeed your Lord – only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 175
