And indeed this Qur’an has been sent down by the Lord Of The Creation. 192 brought down by the Faithful Spirit 193 To (communicate) to your heart that you may be a warner 194 in the clear Arabic tongue. 195 And lo! it is in the Scriptures of the men of old. 196 Was it not a sign for them known to the learned of the Children of Israel? 197 If We had sent it down on a barbarian 198 And he had recited it to them, and they had not believed (it would have been different). 199 Thus do We cause (unbelief) to enter the hearts of sinners. 200 They will not believe in it until they suffer the painful torment. 201 So it will come upon them suddenly, whilst they will be unaware. 202 and they will say, 'Shall we be respited?' 203 What, do they seek to hasten Our chastisement? 204 Did you consider that if We were to let them enjoy life for many years 205 and then what they were promised comes to them, 206 what avail will their past enjoyments be to them? 207 Never did We destroy a population, but had its warners - 208 By way of reminder, and We have never been unjust. 209 Not by the Satans has it been brought down; 210 They are not worthy of it, nor have they power. 211 Indeed they are debarred from even hearing it. 212 (Muhammad), do not worship anything besides God lest you suffer the punishment. 213 and warn your nearest kinsmen; 214 and be kind to your believing followers. 215 And if they disobey thee, say thou: verily I am quit of that which ye work. 216 And put your trust in Him Who is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate, 217 Who seeth thee standing forth (in prayer), 218 And your movement among those who prostrate. 219 Verily! He, only He, is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower. 220 Shall I tell you on whom the satans descend? 221 They come to every sinful liar. 222 (Into whose ears) they pour hearsay vanities, and most of them are liars. 223 As for the poets, the erring follow them, 224 Do you not see that in every valley they roam 225 And that they say that which they do not do, 226 Except those who believed and did good deeds, and profusely remembered Allah, and took revenge after they had been wronged*; and soon the unjust will come to know upon which side they will be overturned**. (* The Muslim poets who praise Allah and the Prophet. ** The disbelievers will be punished.) 227
