The Parties (Al-Ahzaab)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ O Prophet, fear Allah, and do not obey the unbelievers and the hypocrites. Allah is the Knower, the Wise. 1 Follow what is revealed to you by your Lord. Verily God is all-knowing and all-wise. 2 Put your trust in Allah: Allah is sufficient as Guardian. 3 Allah has never put two hearts within one person's body; nor has He made your wives, whom you compare to your mothers' backs (to divorce them), your true mothers; nor has He made those whom you adopt as sons your own sons. These are only words that you utter with your mouths. But Allah proclaims the Truth and directs you to the Right Path. 4 Name them after their fathers, that is more just with Allah. If you do not know their fathers, regard them as your brothers in the religion, or those under your sponsorship. There is no fault in you if you make mistakes, but only in what your hearts intended. Allah is Forgiving and the Most Merciful, 5 The Prophet is nigher unto the believers than themselves, and his wives are their mothers. And kinsmen are nigher one to another in the ordinance of Allah than other believers and the emigrants except that ye may act reputably unto your friends. This hath been written in the Book. 6 When We made the covenant with the prophets, and with you, as with Noah and Abraham, Moses and Jesus son of Mary, a binding covenant, 7 That He may question the truthful of their truth, and He has prepared for the unbelievers a painful punishment. 8
