The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By those (angels) ranged in ranks (or rows). 1 and those who drive away [the wicked] with reproof 2 By the angels reciting the praise. 3 Verily your Ilah (God) is indeed One (i.e. Allah); 4 the Sustainer of the heavens and the earth and of all that is between them, and the Sustainer of all the points of sunrise! 5 Surely We have adorned the nearest heaven with an adornment, the stars, 6 And have placed therein a guard against any satan froward. 7 They cannot listen to the exalted assembly, and they are darted at from every side. 8 To make them flee, and for them is a never-ending punishment. 9 except such as snatches a fragment, and he is pursued by a piercing flame. 10 Therefore ask them (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), “Are they a stronger creation, or are other things of our creation, (the angels, the heavens etc.)?” We have indeed created them from sticky clay. 11 You marvel (at the wondrous creations of Allah) and they scoff at it, 12 And when they are warned they pay no heed. 13 And when they see a sign they incite one another to scoff, 14 it and say, "It is only plain magic". 15 When we are dead and turned to dust and bones, how can we be raised again, 16 and perhaps also our forebears of old?" 17 Say, "Yes indeed, and you will be brought low." 18 Then it will be a single (compelling) cry; and behold, they will begin to see! 19 They will then say: “Woe for us. This is the Day of Judgement.” 20 “This is the Day of Judgement, which you used to deny!” 21
