O Children of Israel! call to mind the (special) favour which I bestowed upon you, and fulfil your covenant with Me as I fulfil My Covenant with you, and fear none but Me. 40 And believe in what I reveal, confirming the revelation which is with you, and be not the first to reject Faith therein, nor sell My Signs for a small price; and fear Me, and Me alone. 41 And do not mix up the truth with the falsehood, nor hide the truth while you know (it). 42 Establish your prayers, pay the obligatory charity, and bow with those who bow. 43 ۞ Enjoin you Al-Birr (piety and righteousness and each and every act of obedience to Allah) on the people and you forget (to practise it) yourselves, while you recite the Scripture [the Taurat (Torah)]! Have you then no sense? 44 And seek assistance through patience and prayer, and most surely it is a hard thing except for the humble ones, 45 Who are conscious that they have to meet their Lord, and to Him they have to return. 46
