The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. 1 And by those who gently draw out the souls of the blessed, 2 And by those who float in space, 3 And who quickly present themselves. 4 and by those who regulate events. 5 One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, 6 and will be followed by another quaking. 7 On that day hearts beat painfully 8 Cast down will be (their owners') eyes. 9 They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, 10 even after we are fragmented bones' 11 and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 When, behold, they will be in the (full) awakening (to Judgment). 14 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 15 Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:- 16 [saying], "Go to Pharaoh, he has exceeded all bounds, 17 and say, 'Will you reform yourself? 18 ‘And I may guide you to your Lord, so that you may fear.’” 19 Then did (Moses) show him the Great Sign. 20 But [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] belied and disobeyed; 21 then he turned away hastily, 22 Then he gathered and cried aloud, 23 Saying, "I am your Lord, Most High". 24 So Allah, seized him with punishment for his last [i.e. his saying: "I am your lord, most high") (see Verse 79:24)] and first [(i.e. his saying, "O chiefs! I know not that you have a god other than I" (see Verse 28:38)] transgression. 25 Surely, in this there is a lesson for he that fears! 26
