Therefore continue to remind, for by the grace of your Lord, you are not a soothsayer, or a madman. 29 Do they say, "He is only a poet and we are waiting to see him die!?" 30 Say, "Wait, I too am waiting with you". 31 Or, do their intellects order them to do this? Or, are they an insolent people? 32 Do they say: 'He has invented it' No, they do not believe. 33 Then let them produce speech the like thereof, if they are truthful. 34 Were they created of nothing, or were they themselves the creators? 35 Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Nay, they have no firm belief. 36 Or do they own the treasures of thy Lord? Or have they been given charge (thereof)? 37 Do they have a ladder (by which they can climb up to the heavens) and listen (to the angels) and come back to the rest of the people with clear authority? 38 Has (God) daughters and they sons? 39 Or askest thou a hire from them so that they are with debt laden? 40 Or [do they think] that the hidden reality [of all that exists] is almost within their grasp, so that [in time] they can write it down? 41 Or do they want to stage a deception? -- Then only those who do not believe will be the ones who will be tricked. 42 Or have they any god beside Allah? Glorified be Allah from all that they ascribe as partner (unto Him)! 43 Even if they were to see a part of the heavens falling down upon them, they would say, "It is only dense cloud". 44 So leave them alone until they encounter that Day of theirs, wherein they shall (perforce) swoon (with terror),- 45 A day on which their scheming will not benefit them at all, nor will they be helped. 46 Surely a chastisement awaits the wrong-doers even before the coming of that Day; but most of them do not know. 47 So wait patiently for the Judgement of your Lord -- you are certainly under Our watchful eye. And glorify and celebrate the praises of your Lord when you rise up [from your sleep]. 48 and proclaim the praise of thy Lord in the night, and at the declining of the stars. 49
