Al-Najm 3 of 3
Have you seen the one who turned away 33 who gave a little, and then stopped? 34 Does he possess the knowledge of the Unseen, and therefore he sees? 35 Or has he never yet been told of what was [said] in the revelations of Moses, 36 And Abraham who paid his debt: 37 That no soul laden bears the load of another, 38 and that man shall have nothing but what he has striven for, 39 That his endeavours will be judged, 40 whereupon he shall be requited for it with the fullest requital; 41 And that to your Lord is your returning; 42 That it is He Who granteth Laughter and Tears; 43 And that He it is Who causes death and gives life- 44 And that He creates the two mates - the male and female - 45 From a seed when lodged (in its place); 46 and on Him depends the life hereafter. 47 And that He it is Who enriches and gives to hold; 48 And that He only is the Lord of the star Sirius? 49 that it was He that destroyed ancient Aad 50 And that Thamud! He left not. 51 And before them, the people of Noah, for that they were (all) most unjust and most insolent transgressors, 52 And He destroyed the overthrown cities [of Sodom to which Prophet Lout (Lot) was sent]. 53 So there covered them that which did cover (i.e. torment with stones). 54 So which then of your Lord's favors do you dispute? 55 He who warns you is one of the warners of old. 56 What is to come is imminent. 57 No (soul) but Allah can lay it bare. 58 Will you, then, wonder at this? 59 And laugh and not weep? 60 Will you remain proudly heedless? 61 Prostrate yourselves before God, and worship Him alone! ۩ 62

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
