Al-Najm 3 of 3
(O Prophet), did you see him who turned away (from the Path of Allah), 33 And he gave a little, then refrained? 34 Does he [claim to] have knowledge of something that is beyond the reach of human perception, so that he can see [it clearly]? 35 Or has he never yet been told of what was [said] in the revelations of Moses, 36 and of Abraham, who to his trust was true: 37 That no bearer of burden shall bear the burden of another- 38 And that man can have nothing but what he does (good or bad). 39 That his endeavours will be judged, 40 Then shall he be rewarded for it with the fullest reward- 41 And that unto thy Lord is the goal. 42 It is He who causes laughter and weeping. 43 and that it is He alone who deals death and grants life; 44 and that it is He who creates the two kinds - the male and the female 45 From a sperm-drop when it is emitted 46 and that [therefore] it is within His power to bring about a second life; 47 And that He it is Who enriches and gives to hold; 48 And that He only is the Lord of the star Sirius? 49 that it was He that destroyed ancient Aad 50 And the Thamud nor gave them a lease of perpetual life. 51 and the people of Noah before -- certainly they did exceeding evil, and were insolent 52 And He destroyed the Overthrown Cities (of Sodom and Gomorrah). 53 and covered them with torment. 54 Which then of thy Lord's benefits wilt thou doubt? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 There hath approached the approaching Hour. 57 Of it, [from those] besides Allah, there is no remover. 58 So are you surprised at this fact? 59 Will you laugh at it rather than weep? 60 Wasting your (precious) lifetime in pastime and amusements (singing, etc.). 61 [Nay,] but prostrate yourselves before God, and worship [Him alone]! ۩ 62

كيف تعمل منظومة تمارين الحفظ؟ عند أدنى مستوى 0، تكون كل الكلمات ظاهرة. بينما يُخفي أعلى مستوى 9 كل الكلمات. فكيف تعمل المستويات المتوسطة، مثل 3، على سبيل المثال؟ قد تعتقد بأن المنظومة تخفي 3 من كل تسع كلمات بدقة. ليس تماما! في المستوى 3، لكل كلمة فرصة اختفاء بنسبة 3 من 9، و6 من 9 لتكون ظاهرة. بمعنى آخر، من الممكن، ولكن باحتمال شبة معدوم، أن تكون جميع كلمات المستوى 3 مخفية، أو أن تكون جميعها ظاهرة! وكذلك أيضًا، ففي المستويات المتوسطة، وبما يتناسب مع مستوى الصعوبة، يمكن أن تكون المخابئ غير كاملة أو شفافة جزئيًا بحيث تظهر الكلمات جزئيًا تحتها.
How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
