Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Sure Reality! 1 What is the Inevitable? 2 Ah, what will convey unto thee what the reality is! 3 Thamud and 'Aad denied the Striking Calamity. 4 the Thamud were destroyed by a terrible storm of thunder and lightning; 5 and as for the 'Ad - they were destroyed by a storm wind furiously raging, 6 which He willed against them for seven nights and eight days without cease, so that in the end thou couldst see those people laid low [in death,] as though they were so many [uprooted] trunks of hollow palm trees: 7 Can you see any of their survivors? 8 And Fir'aun (Pharaoh), and those before him, and the cities overthrown [the towns of the people of [Lout (Lot)] committed sin, 9 and rebelled against their Lord's Messenger. So He took them with a stern taking. 10 We, when the water (of Noah's Flood) overflowed beyond its limits, carried you (mankind), in the floating (Ark), 11 That We might make it a Message unto you, and that ears (that should hear the tale and) retain its memory should bear its (lessons) in remembrance. 12 And when the trumpet shall sound a single blast. 13 And the earth and mountains heaved and crushed to powder with one levelling blow, 14 And so, that which must come to pass will on that day have come to pass; 15 The heaven will be split; because on that Day it will be frail. 16 and will turn frail, losing all force. The angels will be around the heavens and on that day eight of them will carry the Throne of your Lord above all the creatures. 17 On that day all of you will be brought forth, so none among you wishing to hide will be able to hide. 18 Then he who is given his record in his right hand will exclaim, "Here is my record, read it. 19 Indeed, I knew that I should come to my reckoning' 20 And so he will find himself in a happy state of life, 21 in a lofty Garden, 22 with its fruits within easy reach. 23 (It will be said): 'Eat and drink with a good appetite because of what you did in days long passed' 24 And as for him who is given his book in his left hand he shall say: O would that my book had never been given me: 25 And had not known what is my account. 26 “Alas, if only it had been just death.” 27 My wealth hath not availed me, 28 “All my power has vanished.” 29 (It will be said): Take him and fetter him 30 Then cast him into the burning fire, 31 Then into a chain whose length is seventy cubits insert him." 32 “Indeed he refused to accept faith in Allah, the Greatest.” 33 Nor did he urge the feeding of the poor. 34 “So he does not have any friend here this day.” 35 Nor any food except from the discharge of wounds; 36 which only the sinners eat". 37
