The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When the Occurrence occurs, 1 no soul will deny its coming. 2 (a calamitous Event) that shall turn things upside down: 3 When the earth shall be shaken with a (severe) shaking, 4 And the mountains will be crushed, blown to bits. 5 they will become like dust scattered around. 6 [on that Day] you shall be divided into three groups. 7 (First) those on the right hand; what of those on the right hand? 8 The people of the left hand - those whose books of records will be placed in their left hands. How miserable they will be! 9 And those who surpassed have indeed excelled. 10 they who were [always] drawn close unto God! 11 In gardens of tranquility; 12 A multitude of those of old 13 but only a few from the later generations. 14 On couches in wrought with gold. 15 reclining upon them, facing one another [in love]. 16 They will be served by immortal boys, 17 with goblets, jugs and cups of crystal clear wine 18 No after-ache will they receive therefrom, nor will they suffer intoxication: 19 And with fruit from that which they choose. 20 And the meat of fowl, from whatever they desire. 21 And (there are) fair ones with wide, lovely eyes, 22 beautiful as pearls hidden in their shells. 23 Reward for what they used to do. 24 Not frivolity will they hear therein, nor any taint of ill,- 25 Nought but the saying: peace! peace! 26 The Companions of the Right 27 They will be in (the shade) of thornless lote 28 and clustered bananas, 29 In shade long-extended, 30 By water flowing constantly, 31 and abundant fruits, 32 Whose season is not limited, and their supply will not be cut off, 33 And exalted thrones. 34 Perfectly We formed them, perfect, 35 and We made them spotless virgins, 36 loving and of equal age. 37 with those who have attained to righteousness: 38
