Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Ha. Mim. 1 By the Clear Book; 2 Verily We! We have made it an Arabic Qur'an that haply ye may reflect. 3 It is in the Origin of the Book with Us, sublime and wise. 4 Then should We turn the message away, disregarding you, because you are a transgressing people? 5 And how many a Prophet have We sent amongst the men of old. 6 And never came there a Prophet to them but they used to mock at him. 7 We therefore destroyed the people who were more forceful than these, and the example of the earlier ones has already gone by. 8 And if you should ask them, Who created the heavens and the earth? they would most certainly say: The Mighty, the Knowing One, has created them; 9 He who made the earth a bed for you, and laid out tracks upon it so that you may find the way; 10 And (it is He), who sends down water from the sky in its measure thereby We revive the land that was dead, as such you shall be brought forth. 11 And Who hath treated the pairs, all of them, and appointed for you from ships and cattle things whereon ye ride. 12 That you may settle yourselves upon their backs and then remember the favor of your Lord when you have settled upon them and say. "Exalted is He who has subjected this to us, and we could not have [otherwise] subdued it. 13 Surely we have to go back to our Lord." 14 And they allot to Him a portion of His bondmen! Lo! man is verily a mere ingrate. 15
