Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection, 1 and by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Does man imagine that We will not be able to bring his bones together again? 3 Yes, We are Able to put together in perfect order the tips of his fingers. 4 None the less man chooses to deny what lies ahead of him, 5 He asketh: When will be this Day of Resurrection? 6 When the eye is bewildered, 7 The moon eclipsed, 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together 9 on that Day will man exclaim "Whither to flee?" 10 No, there shall be no (place of) refuge. 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat that Day. 12 Man will be apprised, on that Day, of what he has done and what he has left undone: 13 Rather, man, against himself, will be a witness, 14 even though he offer his excuses. 15 (O Prophet), do not stir your tongue hastily (to commit the Revelation to memory). 16 Surely its collection and recitation are Our responsibility. 17 And so when We recite it, follow its recitation attentively; 18 The exposition of its meaning surely rests on Us. 19 Yet you love this hasty world 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 Some faces will be radiant on that Day, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 And that day will other faces be despondent, 24 certain of facing a great calamity. 25 Yes indeed, when the soul will reach up to the throat. 26 And it is asked: "Is there any reciter of charms and amulets?" 27 And he will conclude that it was (the Time) of Parting; 28 When legs are twisted around each other, 29 unto thy Lord that Day is the drive. 30
