Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Most Auspicious is He in Whose control is the entire kingship; and He is Able to do all things. 1 [He] who created death and life to test you [as to] which of you is best in deed - and He is the Exalted in Might, the Forgiving - 2 Who created the seven skies one above the other. Do you see any disproportion in the creations of Ar-Rahman? Turn your eyes again. Do you see any fissures? 3 Then turn back the eye again and again; your look shall come back to you confused while it is fatigued. 4 And indeed We have beautified the lower heaven with lamps, and have made them weapons against the devils, and have kept prepared for them the punishment of the blazing fire. 5 for, suffering in hell awaits all who are [thus] bent on blaspheming against their Sustainer: and how vile a journey's end! 6 When they will be cast thereinto, they will hear thereof a braying even as it boileth up, 7 Well-nigh it bursteth with rage. So oft as a company is cast thereinto, the keepers thereof will ask them: came there not unto you a warner? 8 They say: Yea, verily, a warner came unto us; but we denied and said: Allah hath naught revealed; ye are in naught but a great error. 9 And they will say, “Had we listened or understood, we would not have been among the people of hell.” 10 So they acknowledge their sins; but far removed (from mercy) are the dwellers in the flames. 11 Verily those who dread their Lord unseen, theirs shall be forgiveness and a great hire. 12 And conceal your speech or publicize it; indeed, He is Knowing of that within the breasts. 13 Would He not know, He Who has created, when He is All-Subtle, All-Aware? 14
