Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Blest be He in whose hand is the dominion, and He is over everything Potent. 1 Who has created death and life, that He may test you which of you is best in deed. And He is the All-Mighty, the Oft-Forgiving; 2 Who hath created seven heavens in storeys. Thou shalt not behold in the Compassionate's creation any over-sight; then repeat thy look, beholdest thou any crack? 3 Then lift your gaze again, your gaze will return towards you, unsuccessful and weak. 4 And indeed We have adorned the nearest heaven with lamps, and We have made such lamps (as) missiles to drive away the Shayatin (devils), and have prepared for them the torment of the blazing Fire. 5 And for those who disbelieved in their Lord is the punishment of Hell, and wretched is the destination. 6 When they are cast therein, they will hear the (terrible) drawing in of its breath even as it blazes forth, 7 It almost bursts with rage. Every time a company is thrown into it, its keepers ask them, "Did there not come to you a warner?" 8 They will say, “Yes, why not – indeed a Herald of Warning did come to us – in response we denied and said ‘Allah has not sent down anything – you are not except in a great error’.” 9 They also say, 'If we had only heard, or had understood, we would not have been of the inhabitants of the Blaze.' 10 So they acknowledge their sins; but far removed (from mercy) are the dwellers in the flames. 11 (As for) those who fear their Lord in secret, they shall surely have forgiveness and a great reward. 12 And whether you keep your talk secret or disclose it, verily, He is the All-Knower of what is in the breasts (of men). 13 Would He not know, He Who has created, when He is All-Subtle, All-Aware? 14
